We’re hiring! 2-year UCD Asst. Prof in Creative & Cultural Industries

We’re looking for a new member of our teaching & research team in the School of Art History & Cultural Policy at University College Dublin, to help deliver our new BA in Creative & Cultural Industries. This is a 2-year, fixed-term post that will take on the role of Programme Coordinator, and deliver teaching in both broad & specialised areas of the creative industries. This post is funded by the Creative Futures Academy initiative, a €10 million HEA-funded project in delivering new creative pedagogies, shared by UCD, NCAD, and IADT.

We’re looking for folks with strong teaching and administration experience at third level, who have the capacity to mentor new students, and take leadership on the new programme’s coordination, recruitment, and outreach efforts. Applicants should also have experience as a creative practitioner or manager, with a proven track record of achievement in the creative industries (either non- or for-profit); or experience in practice as research at third level. You’ll be working with a programme team based in the School of Art History & Cultural Policy, in concert with a wide range of colleagues across Colleges of Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Law, and Business.

This post is open to postgraduate-level qualified candidates (PhD preferred) from a range of artistic and creative backgrounds. However, we will prioritise candidates with experience in sectors not already represented amongst programme staff, including (but not excluded to) fashion; gaming / game theory; television and screen studies; music production; marketing and advertising; new media and digital practice; design; globalisation and the creative industries; etc.
