IMA Conference: Museums in Society: Navigating Public Policy (Belfast, 27 Feb – 1 March)

This year’s Irish Museums Association Annual Conference will be of particular interest to folks keen on exploring cultural policy, with its theme Museums in Society: Navigating Public Policy. It’s in Belfast from 27 Feburary – 1 March at the Ulster Museum. Concessions for students etc. are very generous, and it’s always a highlight of the year for me! The full programme, speakers’ biographies, abstracts, fees schedule and booking form are available on www.irishmuseums.org/annual-conference.

New year, new look – and new jobs!

IMG_0225Greetings arts management enthusiasts! Thought I’d freshen things up a bit for 2015 – including also a pic of one of my favourite exhibitions of 2014, the Helio Oiticica exhibition at IMMA (my son showing the art some love). Very happy to be starting another semester here at UCD today… do check out the newly updated jobs page, and there will be lots of other interesting news headed towards the blog imminently! Projects I’ve been working on over the last semester will be making an appearance very soon – including the latest issue of the Irish Journal of Arts Management and Cultural Policy, new developments on the strategic alliance of UCD and NCAD (I’m seconded to this project this academic year), and new opportunities for arts management professional education here at UCD. Great things in store for 2015! Thanks for your continued readership & support 🙂 Emily
